I am a visual artist with a focus on painting. I received my MFA (KuM) in Antwerp, Belgium, and currently live and work in Vantaa.
Taking cues from Computer Graphics on the one hand and art history on the other, my work investigates how we translate what we see to the flat surface, and especially how that flat surface relates to its subject. This involves matters of framing, perspective, representation, optics, virtuality, and the material properties of both the artwork and its subject.
The tension between the last two is paramount, and an underexplored but unparalleled aspect of painting.
