Katinka van der Jagt (b. 1970) is a Helsinki-based visual artist/researcher. Her practice unfolds at the intersection of painting, environmental research, and embodied knowledge. Her work seeks to loosen the grip of anthropocentric thought and imagine modes of perception beyond a human-centred lens. Rooted in the possibility of universal communication, van der Jagt’s practice explores how cognition is sensed, translated, and materialised through art. She works with natural materials allowing material presence and ecological awareness to guide her process. Recent works emerged during her residency in Berlin, shaped through the contingencies of shared encounters.
